Do you realize that soon the millennial demographic will be the largest voting block in the United States?  This is the same demographic that rallied behind Senator Bernie Sanders in the primaries during the 2016 election.  The future of our country rests in the hands of millennials, but before you give up on this generation, you should take a few notes from Representative Timothy Hill.  He is an advocate for conservatism and takes that activism to the demographic that some have given up on.

The Conservative Coalition at East Tennessee State University hosted an event in December on conservatism and fake news.  Representative Hill headlined the event, and instead of talking down to the crowd, he built relationships and explained the values of the Republican party.  He answered every question that the audience had in an extended Q&A.

He talked about his time in media and what it was like when he was a student at ETSU.  Representative Hill’s transparency showed something that is often lost in politics – humanity.  He didn’t come to the event with talking points.  He wasn’t there to win votes; he was there to show millennials that they had someone who cared about their often forgotten group.

Student Republicans are in the trenches as they face a very liberal community in their colleges and universities.  Representative Hill shows them that they have a friend.  One can only hope that more Republican leaders follow his lead.
